Bellevue will be celebrating its Sesquicentennial in June 2017! Below are the details of the celebratory activities that the Borough is planning in conjunction with the the local businesses, organizations, and residents to celebrate Bellevue’s past, present, and future.

Commemorative Merchandise Available:

  • T-shirts are available to purchase at The Borough Building, The Shepherd’s Door, and T & M Hardware & Rental. The shirts are $10 for small, medium, and large sizes and $12 for extra large and XXL sizes.
  • A commemorative history books will also be available this Fall.

Get Involved in the Festivities:

  • Mayor for a Day Raffle: Win a chance to serve as Bellevue’s Honorary Mayor for a Day in celebration of Bellevue’s upcoming Sesquicentennial (150th) Celebration! Raffle tickets are $5 at the Borough Hall. Learn more about the Honorary Mayor Duties here.
  • Submit Your Photos: Do you have old photos of Bellevue happenings over the years or any stories you would like to share about how things used to be “back in the day?”  If so, please click here to learn how to share these items at our Sesquicentennial celebration displays in a Bellevue-themed art show that will take place during the celebration.
  • Set Up a Table at the Craft Fair: We’re looking for local artists, crafters, and home-based businesses to help line the streets of Bellevue during our celebratory block party. The cost is $20 for a table, which covers the mercantile tax. Crafters are responsible for bringing their own table and tent.
  • Join the 150 Club: As part of the 150th celebration we have formed a 150th Club which is limited to 150 members. The fee for the 150th Club is $150.00 for two people and includes the following benefits: Copy of Bellevue’s Sesquicentennial History Book with your name on it. (To be published in late summer of 2017.), Special seating at our Sesquicentennial Events including the Fireman’s Parade on Thursday, June 8th, and the Community Dinner on Saturday, June 10th, two Sesquicentennial T-shirts, Exclusive Sesquicentennial Pins for 150th Members Only, Admission for 2 for a 150th Members Only Speak Easy event at Grill 565 on Saturday, June 11th at 9:00 p.m. For Membership form please contact Kathy Halligan at halligan@bellevueboro.com.
  • Volunteer Your Time: Volunteers are also welcomed to help plan and execute these events. Please contact Kathy Halligan at the Borough Building if you would like to get involved with the 150th celebrations (halligan@bellevueboro.com).
  • Make a Donation: Looking to give back to the community? You can donate to the 150th events on the Borough website.

All proceeds from these activities go towards funding the 150th events outlined below.

  • Fireman’s Parade (Sponsored by the Bellevue Borough Fire Department): 7:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. Priority seating at Center for Bellevue for 150th Club Members
  • Carnival (Sponsored by The Citizen)– Northgate Football Field: 8:00 p.m. – 10:00 p.m.

Friday, June 9th, 2017:

  • Bellevue Art Show– PJR Photography & Studio 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. (Sponsored by PJR Photography & Studio; K. Hyslop Photography; and Kaela Speicher Photography)
  • Carnival (Sponsored by The Citizen)– Northgate Football Field 7:00 p.m. – 11:00 p.m.

  • All Day Events:
    • Historic Walking Tours (Sponsored by Enjoy Bellevue)
    • Antique Photo Shoot (Sponsored by the North Suburban Chamber of Commerce)
  •  Community Block Party (Lincoln Ave.):
    • 9:00 a.m. – 10:00 a.m. Meet & Greet with Police Officers at YMCA (Cookies & Coffee will be served during this event courtesy of North Hills Community Outreach)
    • 10:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.: Craft Fair on Lincoln Avenue
    • 10:00 a.m.: The Brass Band concert at The Center of Bellevue
    • 10:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.: Bayne Library Events: Book Sale, Summer Reading Sign-ups & Kickoff; and Story Walk
    • 11:00 a.m. – 11:15 a.m.: Skate Board Safety Demonstration at the Skate Park

    • 6:15 p.m.: Recognition of resident who has lived in Bellevue the longest period of time

Inter-Faith Service of Bellevue Churches and Worship Congregations at Bayne Park & followed by light refreshments (Residents are encouraged to bring blankets and lawn chairs to the Inter-Faith Service).
