The Pitt Stop BBQ

There are certain distinct advantages to living where I do – very short commute to work, grocery store a three minute walk from home, and frozen yogurt a stone’s throw away. And then there’s the aroma of The Pitt Stop’s wood fire smoked meat and poultry filling the air with the promise of a delicious dinner without any effort on my part.

Executive Chef Rich Palmieri has been in the culinary field for six years working in Pittsburgh and Ohio. He was classically trained at the International Culinary School at the Art Institute of Pittsburgh.

The Pitt Stop is a family-owned and operated small business in the heart of Bellevue. The business is also a full-service caterer and can suit all your needs — big or small, backyard party to plated dinner. “From baby back ribs, corn on the cob, and mashed potatoes, to pulled pork and cold salads, cornbread, roasted vegetables, and mac ‘n’ cheese, we have something to satisfy any craving. And don’t forget to order yourself one of our homemade barbecue sauces…”

The Pitt Stop offers free delivery for orders over $30 — very popular during all of Pittsburgh’s sporting events. Game day, playoffs, and tournament specials are offered, as well, with choices ranging from racks of ribs, to wings, to pulled pork by the pound, plus side dishes. Another service Rich offers and is interested in expanding is his in-home private chef service, and his client base for that is slowly and steadily building.

Online reviews are very favorable: “The first time I was there, I got the Jorge sauce on a Pittsburgh pulled pork, and I haven’t stopped. It’s coleslaw and fries on the sandwich. The sauce is some of the best I’ve had. Locals love this place. It’s become my go-to for lunch”

Stop in and say hi to Rich – oh, and do try one of his sauces. If you like heat, the Jorge is the bomb.
